Update on Minimum Wage Issues in Missouri

Ray McCarty president and CEO of Associated Industries of Missouri (AIM) and Executive Director of the Taxpayers Research Institute of Missouri was guest speaker at a joint meeting of the RREC and Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce this morning (August 21, 2015) held at Oak Meadows Country Club. 

Mr. McCarty was able to shed light on the entanglement of recent state and municipal legislative actions surrounding attempts to amend the minimum wage requirements. 

In addition, Mr. McCarty provided information about legislation regarding the right of an employer to do criminal background checks on prospective employees and new Federal legislation, which will go into effect in 2016, requiring the payment of overtime wages to certain management level employees.
